The first of a total of six hulls was towed from the Swedish ship yard, Kockums AB, in Karlskrona to the Danish yard in Faaborg by the end of June 2006.

Faaborg Ship Yard will now make the final installations before the first ship is to be delivered to the Royal Danish Navy by the end of January 2007.

Danish-Swedish Cooperation

At the end of December 2004 the Naval Material Command signed an agreement with the Danish ship yard, Faaborg Værft, on the production of six new patrol vessels for the RDN.

Faaborg Værft cooperates with the Kockums AB in Sweden, who is responsible for the molding of the new hulls an the main engine installations.

Kockums AB is the largest and most experienced Nordic ship yacht in fiber hulls moulding.

After molding and installation of the main engines at Kockums, the hulls are towed to Faaborg, who will take care of the final installations.

When the ships are delivered to the RDN, the Naval Material Command will complete the ships with communication and navigational equipment.
